What this check reads
The checker fetches a public HTML page and reads its initial Open Graph and Twitter card metadata. It uses the normal page title or description as a fallback when Open Graph values are missing and reports what it found. It cannot read a private page or depend on client-rendered tags.
Why an image may be missing
Check that og:image points to a publicly available HTTPS image and that the image suits the sharing destination. For privacy, the preview on Raven only loads an image served by the checked site's own domain. If the image lives on a different domain, the tag is reported as text. The checked website sees the server's fetch and may see your browser request when its preview image is loaded.
Preview versus the real platform
Social networks can cache earlier versions, follow different redirects, select a different image or crop it differently. This card is an approximation, not a promise of exactly how Facebook, LinkedIn or another service will render the link. After changing tags, check the published URL in that platform's own debugger.
Common questions
Can it check localhost or a staging page?
No. Only public HTTPS domain names can be checked.
Does it change a cached Facebook preview?
No. Use the platform’s own debugger to ask it to refresh its cache.
Why does it say the URL cannot be checked?
The site may reject requests, use a non-HTML response, redirect too many times or exceed the checker’s time or size limits.
